The Hostel for Boys and Girls Hostel was established in the year 1969 in a rented house. The Boys Hostel was shifted to the present building in the year 1993. The Girls Hostel continue only till the year 1994 and closed. At present we have a new girl’s hostel which will be operated from this year.

  1. SPORT S AND GAMES: – Sports & Game facilities are available in the College Campus.
  2. STORE ROOM :- There is a store room which is used for keeping food material and other goods & materials

KITCHEN AND DINING HALL : – There is a kitchen and a Dining hall where student have their breakfast cum Lunch, Tea and Dinner.

EMPLOYEE OF THE HOSTEL: – This Hostel is managed by the superintendent along with 2(two) cooks, 1(one) cleaner cum sweeper, 1(one) day chowkidar who is in-charge of the water pump.

MANAGEMENT OF THE HOSTEL: – The Hostel is managed by the superintendent along with the member of the Hostel Committee of the College. We also have Hostel Rules and Regulations for both the Boys and Girls Hostel.

A. ADMISSION:

  1. Admission session starts from the month of June – July.
  2. Application will be only in online mode. Students can avail the application form from the college website.
  3. Admission notice will be issued by the Hostel Committee.
  4. Allotment of a seats should be given only to the students based outside Jowai Town
  5. Only regular students from the day section will be admitted in the Hostel.
  6. A failed student who is readmitted in the College cannot secure a seat in the Hostel.
  7. Admitted students to the college will have to appear for personal interview which will be intimated and Selection will be done on a merit basis.
  8. All Hostel fees should be paid in the College office in advance for one semester and the fee counterfoil submitted to the Superintendent prior to occupying the Hostel room/seat. Anyone found violating this shall forfeit his or her Hostel seat.
  9. The maximum duration of resident shall be 4 years (8 semesters)

B. FEES STRUCTURE:

    1. Hostel fees – Rs. 2000 per semester for fresh students
    2. Hostel fees – Rs. 1000 per semester for renewal student

C. HOSTEL MESS:

    1. Mess fees must be cleared before the 10th of every month. Students who join during the first five days of the month shall pay for the whole month. Those who join from the 10th to 20th have to pay for 20 days. Those who join after the 20th have to pay for remaining days.
    2. Mess fees is not refundable.
    3. In case of students going home after semester exams, the following rule is to be followed. Those who leave on or before the 10th of the month, shall a mess fees amounting to 10 Those who leave on or before the 15th of the month, shall pay half of the total amount. Those who leave on the 16th to 21st of the month, shall pay 3/ 4th of the total amount. Those who stay beyond the 21st of the month, shall pay for the whole month.
    4. Hostellers are expected to eat all kinds of food provided in the hostel for their nourishment and not to skip any meal. Any kind of food allergy should be reported to the superintendent to do the needful.
    5. Indiscriminate throwing of food is a punishable offence.
    6. Hosteller should take their meals in the dining hall only.

D. CONDITION OF RESIDENCE:

    1. All the selected hostellers must join the hostel within a week from the date of interview.
    2. All hostellers are expected to be present during the roll call.
    3. They are to keep their respective rooms neat and tidy and to switch off the light by 10.30. P.M.
    4. Hostellers are not allowed to stay in the hostel during college hours.
    5. All hostellers should be back in their rooms before the ROLL CALL at 5.00. P.M for girls’ hostel and 6.00. P.M. for boys’ hostel.
    6. A prefect from each semester will be selected by the superintendent to maintain discipline and cleanliness in the hostel and to assist the superintendent in matters related to the welfare of the hostel.
    7. During STUDY HOURS, Common Room shall be closed and strict silence shall be observed. No loud music of any kind is allowed.
    8. For LATE STAY, hostellers should take permission from the Superintendent.
    9. The Superintendent may grant permission for overnight stay on a written request from the parents/local guardian of the hostellers. The hostel authority has the right to refuse permission for overnight stay.
    10. Hostellers who stay out for any length of time without the written permission from the authority shall forfeit his/her seat.
    11. ONLY PARENTS are allowed to visit the hostellers
    12. No friends or relatives are allowed to enter the hostel campus.
    13. Using of Room heater and electric Kettle or any means of water heating is strictly prohibited. Water can be heated only in a place provided by the authority.
    14. Residents shall be personally responsible for the care and cleanliness of the room allotted to them. They shall also be responsible for their belongings, furniture and other items around the hostel campus.
    15. No resident shall remove any property from the Common Room or Dining Room.
    16. Consumption of betel nut, tobacco, alcohol and narcotic substances is strictly prohibited. Any resident found violating this rule shall be immediately expelled.
    17. No hosteller is allowed to attend any extra courses other than the ones offered in the college campus.
    18. Any kind of misbehaviour from the hosteller that disrupts the peaceful environment in the hostel will not be tolerated and immediate action will be taken which may even result in expulsion.
    19. No resident will be allowed to participate organize or to act as a Volunteer in any demonstration or function, social cultural or otherwise, except functions organized by the College or the Hostel authority.
    20. No overcrowding and no littering in and around the hostel area. All hostellers should use the bathroom and toilet properly and should throw all rubbish in the dustbin, and keep the area neat and clean.
    21. During HOLIDAY, hostellers are allowed to come out of the hostel only with special permission from the superintendent.
    22. All powers related to maintenance of discipline and proper conduct of residents in the hostel shall vest with their respective superintendent.
    23. Hostellers are not allowed to stay in the hostel during winter vacation.
    24. After the completion of their final exam, students shall be required to vacate their rooms with in three days. Hostellers must take their belongings with them when leaving the hostel and key should be handed over to the superintendent.

E. PUNISHMENT: ANY HOSTELER FOUND VIOLATING ANY OF THE ABOVE RULES, WILL FACE THE SUPERINTENDENT AND IF REQUIRED WILL HAVE TO FACE THE HOSTEL COMMITTEE. IF THE COMMITTEE CANNOT SETTLE THE PROBLEM, THEN IT SHOULD BE INFORMED TO THE PRINCIPAL. THE DECISION OF THE PRINCIPAL IS FINAL AND BINDING. IF THE HOSTELLER IS EXPELLED FROM THE HOSTEL, IT WILL ALSO INVOLVE HIS/HER EXPULSION FROM THE COLLEGE.

G. MANUAL WORK:   Monthly cleaning of the hostel compound is regarded as an essential part of the hostel programme and all the hostellers must participate
